Last Wednesday was a night for the smooth & coolest kids in town, Crown Royal’s new flavored whiskey campaign & launch event with comedian J.B. Smoove was nothing short of Swanky! From the entrance, a large old school elevator darkly lit with purple and green lights, carried guests straight into a loft space, which had men lined up with a variety of cocktails.
Each cocktail was infused with one of the two new flavors being introduced that night. Crown Royal Regal Apple Flavored Whiskey and Crown Royal Vanilla Flavored Whiskey were beautifully put together with complimentary fruits, adding a certain flair to not only the drinks but the space. Three drinks and a few new friends later, the event seemed to be at its peak when the Whiskey Master, introduced Comedian, Chris DiStefano, as the host. Getting the crowd relaxed and comfortable was the perfect way to welcome in The King of Flavor himself, J.B. Smoove.
During his “uproarious coronation” (which was definitely pretty cheesy purposely) he was aggressively approached by 2 “Game of Thrones” dressed guards, who ultimately bowed down to the King when glasses of the Regal Apple was bestowed upon them, in a short skit performed for the partygoers.
After the skit, J.B. vibed out with the guests, took pictures on the throne and shared a drink with few. Towards the end of the night, the desserts came out, which included Crown Royal Vanilla cocktails with brown sugar rimmed shots.
The night was nothing short of chic & carefree. When I looked around, all I saw were guests interacting with the DJ, bartenders, and the photobooth, so I knew I wasn’t the only person having a great night! I look forward to seeing how well the new flavors will do, especially tasting it with ginger beer and pineapple juice!
What even more, J.B. Smooth and Crown Royal will celebrate the new flavors with a spirited campaign, titled “Crown Royal Regal Apple: The Musical.” The musical premiered last week and it’s a complete showstopper. J.B. and his crew teamed up with director Greg Brunkalla of Anomaly New York and Storefront Music to create a one of a kind track titled “It’s Apple Time, Baby,” and a series of short films, which also includes a hot dance number choreographed by Fatima Robinson.
The main film features J.B. strutting through a lavish nightclub, as patrons jump into his dance and join his crew for Crown Royal Regal Apple shots all while staying on beat. The campaign will continue throughout 2018 with TV, social media, public relations and bar events rolling out nationwide.
