A rainy cold night didn’t stop NYC fashion enthusiasts from coming out and launching NYFW with Aisha McShaw. The cocktail hour was filled with warm energies that seemed so unbothered by the storm that swept us all in.
Custo Barcelona was created by two brothers, Custo and David Dalmau in 1981 in Barcelona, Spain. The line is inspired by the colorful atmosphere of southern California. The brothers first started crafting T-shirts for men and women with screen-prints and illustrations. Now the brand has extended to everything from suits to swimwear.
They say the 3rd time’s a charm, and Austrian designer Irina Vitjaz is no exception. She descended upon day 3 of New York Fashion Week in a haze of elegance and sleek designs with yet another stunning showcase. In a collaboration with NYFW’s First Stage partnership, Vitjaz presented her S/S 18 collection titled “Pure Couture” at the Gallery at the Dream Hotel. First Stage aims to provide an opportunity for foreign designers to bring their talents to NYFW and embrace a new audience. While not a newcomer to New York, Vitjaz is relatively new in the US market and many agree that her designs brought a breath of fresh air to the fashion scene.
