Late last month, Vibe Magazine and recently opened Brooklyn restaurant Caribbean Social hosted the inaugural Sound and Style Honors awards night brunch honoring today’s leaders in music and fashion.
The exclusive night honored In Style Magazine’s Beauty Editor-at-Large, Kahlana Barfield-Brown, Spotify Global Head of Music Programming Tuma Basa, celebrity hair stylist Tish Celestine, award-winning UK rap artist Stefflon Don, celebrity wardrobe stylist Rachel Johnson and Hot 97 Music Director and radio personality TT Torrez. All the honorees were awarded by VIBE Editor-in-Chief and host of the night, Datwon Thomas and Bonsu Thompson.
Other celebs who attended, included Yandy Smith-Harris, Young Paris (Roc Nation artist), Memsor Kamarake (celebrity wardrobe stylist Wendy Williams Show), Merrell Hollis (celebrity makeup artist Wendy Williams Show), Brittany Lewis (Spotify/Rap Caviar) Whitney Gayle-Benta (VP Talent, Spotify), Africa Miranda (Beauty Executive and model), Yves Pierre Liris Crosse (model), Carline Balan, Shaheem Reid (Revolt TV), Rae Holliday (iOne Digital), Ursula Stephen (celebrity hairstylist), Karleen Roy (Vanity Group), Ezinne Kwubiri (MTV) among others.
Throughout the night, guests dined on Caribbean Social eats, sipped on Martell cocktails and danced the beats of DJ’s Olivia Dope and DJ Goldfinger.
If you want to also get a taste of Caribbean Social yourself, they launched in December 2017 and combines into a restaurant and lounge serving modern Caribbean cuisine in Brooklyn’s Flatbush-Lefferts Gardens area.
