Attendees were invited to part take in all the fun activities including a photo booth, graffiti wall and customized airbrushed hats.

Dave East, a rapper from East Harlem, took the stage first and incited the crowd with his stage presence.

Next up was, rap star  and Brooklynite, Young M.A., who threw down with some of her popular songs and some ad-lib rapping, which is always Brooklyn phenomenon. You could hear the crowd chanting “Bars” as she rapped. The young rapper wowed the crowd with tales of women, circumstances growing up in Brooklyn, and other themes.

By 11pm, the man everyone had been waiting for, some their whole lives, Nas, took the stage and gave a memorable performance. He performed some classics and took Brooklyn Steel by storm. He acknowledged other rappers and his inspirations for the wonderful work they had been doing, and for supporting him throughout the years.  He also gave some encouraging words for the artists in the crowd to never give up, it was very wholesome performance.

As the guests left they were given souvenirs from the sponsors, which included hair products from Cantu and phone chargers so you never miss a moment to relive a live concert.  A good event always leaves guests something to talk about and something to commemorate the experience, and this one was definitely one for the books. The playlist is available on Pandora and you too, can see what NYC Sounds Like.
