Major League Soccer and Secret Walls, the world’s premier live art event, are collaborating on a unique fan experience for 2018 MLS Heineken Rivalry Week this August.
Taking rivalries from the pitch to the street art scene, MLS and Secret Walls are empowering our fans to experience the best of our rivalries through the cross-section of soccer, art, and Heineken.
Two teams of street artists representing NYCFC and the NY Red Bulls have 90 minutes to coat their large blank canvases with Club & Heineken Rivalry Week inspired drawings and paintings, while a live crowd of Club supporters watches and cheers them on. The winning team will answer the question once and for all “Who Runs New York?”
It’s an experience that connects fans of NYCFC and the NY Red Bulls to the artist representing their Club, as they watch the creativity flow before their eyes. Showing the process of the work that we are so used to seeing on buildings and murals throughout NY unfold in a matter of minutes.
Fans in attendance will be treated to a live Rivalry Week Faceoff between eMLS pros Chris Holly (NYCFC) and Mike Labelle (NY Red Bulls) to determine which Club reigns on the digital pitch along with complimentary:
– Food trucks serving staples from around NY
– Customized Club and League gear
– FIFA 18 gaming stations
– Heinekens
– Live musical performance from a special guest
