@RooftopFilms

Rooftop Films is a non-profit organization whose mission is to engage and inspire the diverse communities of New York City by showcasing the work of emerging filmmakers and musicians.

In addition to their annual Summer Series – which takes place in unique outdoor venues every weekend throughout the summer – Rooftop provides grants to filmmakers, rents equipment at low-cost to artists and non-profits, and supports film screenings citywide with the Rooftop Films Community Fund. At Rooftop Films, we bring underground movies outdoors.

Rooftop Films will be kicking off their 2018 Summer Series with three programs of innovative and unorthodox short films from around the world. On Sunday, May 20, Rooftop will celebrate Opening Night in Green-Wood Cemetery with This is What We Mean by Short Films, a program that captures the adventurous spirit of the organization; on Friday, May 25 Rooftop will return to The Old American Can Factory in Gowanus for No Escape a selection of uncanny, disquieting mindbenders; and on Saturday, May 26 Rooftop will present its annual program of Dark Toons at Industry City.

Each shorts  film event will feature live music beforehand and an after-party with Corona Extra, Freixenet, and drinks from Ketel One Family Made Vodka.

There will also be tons of Feature Films and other Shorts all summer as well!
