The 2018 US Air Guitar National Finals – this is the Super Bowl of Air Guitar.
Over the course of the year, U.S. Air Guitar will be holding Regional competitions in over twenty cities across America. One winner from each Regional will have proven that they have what it takes to compete on the National stage, and will advance to the National Finals.
THE BEST Air Guitarists in America will descend upon Rough Trade NYC. This very special evening will be a battle of epic proportions, culminating with one winner who will be crowned the 2018 US Air Guitar Champion. He or she will advance to the Air Guitar World Championships, held in Finland, where they will represent the United States of America against National Champions from 25 other countries all around the world.
The competition consists of two rounds. In Round 1, each competitor performs to a song of their own choosing. In Round 2, the top competitors from Round 1 perform to a surprise compulsory song. Contestants are judged on a combination of technical merit, stage presence, and the ineffable quality of “Airness.” All guitars must be invisible. The jury is a panel of independent judges that are hand picked by US Air Guitar. The results of the jury cannot be protested.
