A Taste of Africa Week NYC – the sights, sounds, style and taste of Africa. Celebrating Black/African history month Feb 16 – 23 2019. This Winter, for the first time in New York City (NYC), Taste of Africa USA the organizers of the African Restaurant Week are producing a new week of events to celebrate Black History Month “A Taste of Africa Week”. The week long event will be a week of food, fashion, music at restaurants and event sites all over the City. Food lovers will get an opportunity to enjoy special discounted menus at several restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn along with several “POP UP” Events.The week long event is another opportunity to highlight small businesses and entrepreneurs across the City.
Some of the participating restaurants include Tsion cafe, Queen of Sheba, Accra Restaurant, Lenox Saphire, La Savane Harlem, Le Baobab (Brooklyn), Ponty Bistro and more – customers will be able to enjoy a taste of Africa at a discounted price.

Saturday, 2/16 Harlem Fashion Week Runway Shows from 7pm till 11pm at Museum of the City of New York 1220 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY.
Tuesday – 2/19 Taste of Africa Wine and Food Tasting Event from 6pm – 8pm – Tsion Cafe 763 St. Nicholas Ave, Manhattan A food and wine event, featuring tastes of the different parts of Africa.
Thursday – 2/21 Harlem Annual Red, Black and Green Event from 6pm – 10pm – Mist Harlem 46 W.116th St. Bring a pair of socks to be donated to a local shelter. Sponsored by Women in Black, Harlem Fashion Week and A Taste of Africa USA.
Friday – 2/22 Taste of Africa & Beats Event from 6pm – 10pm at TSQ lounge 723 7th avenue New York, NY – A networking mixer for professionals, entrepreneurs and culture enthusiasts. The event is co-sponsored by Amref USA.
Saturday, 2/23rd African Pop-Up Festival from 1pm – 8pm at Mist Harlem 46 W. 116th St. – Celebrate Black History in a festive environment as you shop, eat, mingle and dance discover your favorite African/diaspora cuisine, Afrobeats DJ and performances. An opportunity to support various local businesses and vendors across food, fashion, beauty, wellness design, arts, crafts and MORE. Join New York residents, foodies, culture enthusiasts, world travelers as they come out and experience support entrepreneurs from all over the Diaspora in a festive environment.
