Celebrate Return of The Meatpacking District ‘Red Umbrellas’

The Meatpacking District’s annual sign of spring – the iconic red umbrellas on Gansevoort Plaza – will be returning this year accompanied by an all-day celebration of activities and performances available to the public.

Celebrate the arrival of spring in Meatpacking with a day full of music, food, and dance including a live performance, complimentary coffee and pastries, complimentary custom portraits, live music, and the neighborhood’s first annual Red Umbrella Runway Show.

Programming Overview:

9:30 – 11:30 am: Complimentary coffee from Terremoto Coffee and live music by @ericamariemancini and @amosrosemusic

11:30 am – 4:30 pm: Complimentary custom portraits by artist Laura Baran

12 – 4:30 pm: Enjoy lunch on the plaza from your favorite restaurant while listening to live music from Jammcard artists including Dave Levy and the Brass Alchemy, Christian DeMarco Band, DJ Vicky, and Augie Bello

1 pm: Complimentary Chicken + Waffles samples from STK Steakhouse and a complimentary mini Raspberry Rose Cookies from maman

3 pm: The Meatpacking District’s 1st Annual Red Umbrella Runway Show

Strut down the red carpet showing off a decorated umbrella. Decorate an umbrella inspired by the Meatpacking District. The first 20 guests to walk the runway will receive a custom Meatpacking umbrella.

5 pm: Graham 2 Performance
