Cj Hendry ‘Crown’ Treasure Hunt

Phillips Auction House is pleased to announce Dropshop, a digital platform offering limited- edition releases of primary market art and objects in partnership with the artists, collaborators, and brands defining contemporary culture.

Dropshop will launch on Sunday, August 20th, with works from Australian hyperrealist Cj Hendry, an artist who embodies the spirit of self- representation, broad inclusion, and democratization of the market.

A first in her upcoming Crown series, Hendry’s ‘drop’ will feature one hundred bronze crowns, reminiscent of inflatables, alongside a large-scale drawing of one of the crowns. The pieces will be released on Dropshop at 10am ET on the 20th, following an in-person experience on August 19th, featuring a “treasure hunt” through thousands of inflatable plastic crowns. Cj is committed to the principles of zero waste in practice. Any leftover plastic crowns will be recycled and used in an upcoming exhibition.

Willy Wonka-style “Golden Ticket” treasure hunt. Guests will have the opportunity to search for 100 inflatable crowns marked AIR to be hidden amongst 50,000 inflatable crowns marked SPARE. If you find a crown marked with AIR, you will win one of the 100 bronze crowns, signed and numbered.

PART 2 – Online Release

– The number of crowns released online could be 0 or 100 depending on how many crowns are found during the treasure hunt.
– One 62 x 62 inches drawing “AIR” will also be released
– Priced between $5 – $5,000,000. The price will be revealed at the time of the release
