Jazz Age Lawn Party, now celebrating its 19th year, is the world’s original and most authentic Prohibition-era-inspired gathering. Historically sold-out experience, the Jazz Age Lawn Party attracts thousands of time travelers each year, who come together to discover the music and zeitgeist of the 1920s.

Admission

  • General Admission for 1 – includes entry to the experience
  • Child (0–12) Admission for 1 – includes entry to the experience
  • Taste France VIP Picnic for 2 – this VIP offering provided by Taste France includes entry to the experience for 2 people plus one commemorative picnic basket containing:
    – A chilled bottle of white or rosé wine (still or sparkling) (750 ml)
    – Cheese, snacks, sweet treats, refreshments, and other surprises from Taste France
    – A commemorative picnic blanket
    – A take-home portrait from the Paper Moon Photo Booth

The Charleston was the taboo dance of the rebellious Flaming Youth and Flapper culture of the 1920s.

The Peabody was a couple’s dance, which incorporates traveling across the floor in wide, sweeping and fun formations!

The High Court of Pie (Pie Baking) Contest
Sundays (June 9th and August 11th) – At “High Court of Pie” booth near Main Stage

Four Categories Include:
– Mom’s Best: Befitting of a pie only Mum could lovingly bake.
– Hobo’s Choice: This is the pie that a Hobo would steal off a back porch and share around the hobo jungle camp fire.
– Most Creative: Make it creative, but keep it delicious
– Bandleader’s Choice (Best Peach Pie): This category will be judged by event founder and host, Michael Arenella, a native of the Peach State. Peach pies only!To register, email jazzagelawnparty@gmail.com) for participation instructions. SPECIAL PRIZES!

The Bathing Beauties and Beaus Promenade!
Sundays (June 9th and August 11th) – At Main Stage at 2pm

Hosted by Bustles to Boho.

Time to bring your great grandparent’s itchy wool bathing suit out of the mothballs. Only Vintage or Vintage-inspired 1920’s looks or interpretations are accepted. (No 1940’s pin-up or later looks, please!)

Can’t find a 1920’s inspired bathing suit? Visit the Bustles to Boho booth in our Vintage Vendor Village and they will loan or sell you one. Changing rooms also provided in the Bustles To Boho Booth. (to register, email jazzagelawnparty@gmail.com)

The Children’s Parade
Sundays (June 9th and August 11th at Second Stage)

Open to all adult-supervised children 12 and younger. To participate, please bring your little ones to the 2nd Stage at 3pm (Sundays Only) Vintage-inspired kiddie-couture encouraged!

Special Prizes for all baby-faced participants! As always, children under 12 are admitted to the event for free, but chaperones must still reserve a free Children’s Ticket.

PERFORMANCES
Get ready for live jazz music on two stages, a sprawling dance floor, and performances from the very best!

Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra
Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra is the world’s premier Jazz Age dance orchestra, specializing in the Hot Jazz of the 1920s. Composer, musician and crooner Michael Arenella presents a personally transcribed, one-of-a-kind songbook for your listening and dancing pleasure. For Michael, the Jazz Age never really ended, it just fell asleep. Today, he reawakens it wherever he plays.

Witness the bedazzling Dreamland Follies, a ten-lady Art Deco dance spectacle evoking the great Ziegfeld, the fantastic Queen Esther paying tribute to jazz royalty of yore, and Peter Mintun with his incredible piano skills. Listen to the Gelber & Manning band’s beautiful music before enjoying the world-renowned and fun-loving dance troupe, Roddy Caravella and The Canarsie Wobblers, with their scandalous Charleston numbers and rebellious and exuberant spirit of Roaring ‘20s youth.

ACTIVITIES

  • Take some snaps at the Paper Moon photo booths – your photos will be printed on the spot to take home!
  • Quench your thirst at the pop-up beer garden presented by Radeberger Pilsner with refreshing beer and retro cocktails
  • Freshen up and enjoy some of Bigelow’s favorite rose-themed products at the C.O. Bigelow Rose Lounge
  • Improve your moves with some dance lessons or play a game of croquet
  • Get a facial treatment or shave at Proraso, the pop-up barber shop by the Italian men’s grooming brand
  • Get up close and personal with flivvers and Tin Lizzies at the 1920s motorcar exhibition
  • Visit Kidland with carnival games and prizes for junior gents and Flapperettes
  • Check out the vintage clothing vendors and artisans offering timeless treasures and inspired creations
  • Head to the Dreamland General Store for picnic blankets, parasols, hand fans, assorted sundries, and more
  • Discover the Gourmet Picnic Market featuring New York’s fanciest picnicking fare and gourmet food trucks along with sweet treats, ice cream, and old-time snacks
