Museum Mile Festival 2023

The Museum Mile Festival is a free annual event, where several museums along Fifth Avenue from 82nd Street to 105th Street open their doors with FREE admission for the evening. Car-free, Museum Mile features live programs, musical performances, exhibitions, art-making activities, and more!

Enjoy free access to the Guggenheim exhibitions on view: Gego: Measuring Infinity, Sarah Sze: Timelapse, Young Picasso in Paris, A Year with Children 2023, and the Thannhauser Collection. The museum will also host a series of outdoor art-making activities using sustainable materials.

Exhibitions on View: Give Me a Sign: The Language of Symbols examines the fascinating histories behind many of the symbols that instruct, protect, entertain, empower, and connect people. Designing Peace explores the unique role design can play in pursuing peace.

Design Activity:  Design Your Own Symbol. Activity ongoing 6-8 p.m. Outdoors (weather permitting) In coordination with the Give Me a Sign exhibition, visitors are invited to design symbols and participate in creative activities to co-create a Symbol Sourcebook of 2024.

Celebrate the spring opening of Something Beautiful: Reframing La Colección, the Museum’s most ambitious presentation of its unique, complex, and culturally diverse permanent collection in over two decades.

The evening will feature an art-making workshop led by museum educators inspired by the indigenous patterning present in the exhibition, a live musical performance by Afro Dominicano, music by DJ Jomero, and more.
