Lincoln Center’s fourth annual Summer for the City begins, welcoming all New Yorkers and visitors from around the world to a season grounded in the city’s global cultural traditions, innovative spirit, and a deep sense of community—all for free or Choose-What-You-Pay, starting at $5. Events and activities span a plethora of genres and artistic disciplines, from classical to contemporary music, dance, theater, comedy, poetry, kids and family events, global food offerings, and more.
Summer for the City also features a plethora of outdoor food offerings throughout the summer with Festival Food Trucks presented by Chase in collaboration with restaurant discovery platform, The Infatuation. Participating food trucks to be announced in the coming weeks. Additional support provided by United Airlines and Chef Kwame’s Patty Palace.
Opening Day Schedule -Wednesday, June 11th
8 a.m. – The Dance Floor opens to the public, Josie Robertson Plaza (JRP)
11 a.m. – Music Storytime with LaFrae Sci, Karen and Richard LeFrak Lobby, David Geffen Hall
1 p.m. – Music Storytime #2 with LaFrae Sci, Karen and Richard LeFrak Lobby, David Geffen Hall
6 p.m. – Pop Up: Step it Up NYC dance performance, The Dance Floor on JRP
7:30 p.m. – Robert Glasper + Alain Pérez opening concert, Damrosch Park
8 p.m. – Silent Disco with DJ CherishTheLuv, The Dance Floor opening night, Josie Robertson Plaza
