On September 20, 1984, Swatch hosted the first ever World Breakdance Championship in New York City—bringing together the world of sports, art, and music that have been a part of the Swatch DNA from the very beginning. Iconic artist Keith Haring created the poster and materials that promoted the event.
Now, 40 years later, Swatch is releasing the Break Free collection that features Keith Haring’s famous hand-drawn Swatch logo from the original poster, among other designs, inspired to get people moving.
Celebrate this collection that inspires wearers to break free and express themselves with an interactive art activation, providing guests with the time, space, and freedom to express themselves through art. The lot will feature an extra-large canvas and themed markers that visitors can use to draw and create designs of their choice. There will also be some swag giveaways and breakdancers around 3pm.
