Lexus has partnered with non-profit RxArt and Brooklyn artist Daniel Heidkamp to commission an urban landscape installation for new model reveal.

The reveal also took place the eve of the New York International Auto Show Press Days, and will be later be installed in a New York City Pediatric Cancer Center.

The art series featured a large and colorful sculptural collage of a New York City skyline,  placing the UX in its pretty much natural environment. Artist & DJ Erik Foss provided music throughout the night for the crowd of art and automotive industry guests.

More about the Lexus UX:
The UX, the first-ever Lexus compact luxury crossover. The “Urban Explorer” design blends its expressive bodywork with a compact size.  The UX also introduces an all new platform built for exceptional handling and innovative luxury features. With its relevance to a younger, more urban based demographic, it will serve as a new gateway into the luxury automotive brand.

More about Daniel Heidkamp:
Heidkamp who most recently exhibited as part of a group show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, drew inspiration from his Paper Cuts show at Pace Prints, which featured hand-cut collage compositions. Heidkamp drew inspiration from Tom Wesselman’s over-sized Standing Still Lifes, and pulled smaller details from the UX’s design to fill out the series. Individual buildings from his expansive skylines will be rendered in 8’x10’ flats. The installation also featured two new colors introduced with the Lexus UX: Cadmium Orange, and Nori Green Pearl.
