If the smell of barbecue in the air cues up a Nate Dogg song in your mind, you’re in the right place. Indeed, warm weather is once again upon us, and we couldn’t leave you hanging.
For us, summertime in Brooklyn means firing up the grill, cracking a beer, calling up the best DJs we know, and bumping some classic feel-good West Coast rap jams. Like Brooklyn’s own Jay-Z, we’ve held you down for eight summers, and we’ve got more to come.
For the 2018 kick-off , we’re joined by special guest DJ Tara. A driving force behind the Rare Form NYC crew and the Makossa Cookout and Donuts Are Forever events, Tara is one of our favorite DJs. Her ear for new and unexpected jams can’t be beat, and her skills in front of a crowd have helped earn her reputation as one of NYC’s most in-demand club DJs. Also holding down decks will be Str8 West Coastin’ resident DJs Dopeshoes and Still Life.
Food for the June event will be handled by Bowie’s BBQ. If you were fortunate enough to taste their pulled pork tacos at our September event last year, you know why we’re having them back!
Complementary beer will be provided by Old Blue Last beer from 2 PM til 4 PM, while supplies last. We do sometimes run out of complementary beer, so don’t sleep!
