PANELISTS
DR. RACINE HENRY
Dr. Racine Henry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of New York with B.A. in Psychology and Sociology/Social Psychology from Lehigh University, an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University and a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy from Drexel University. Additionally, Dr. Henry is a Clinical Fellow and an Approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
SHILEN AMIN
Shilen Amin is the President of The South Asian Film Festival, the largest film premiere destination for South Asian/Indian filmmakers in the United States. SAIFF was founded in New York City due to the lack of support for many emerging filmmakers and the overall underrepresentation of Indian cinema in a capital that is recognized by the world as the birthplace of independent filmmaking! The Festival is committed to exhibiting films from South Asia (i.e India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal) and within the Indian Diaspora. With a focus on dynamic, visionary cinema, SAIFF annually creates unprecedented exposure for filmmakers and unparalleled experiences for its attendees.
CHARLES CHAISSON
Charles Chaisson is a Brooklyn based Visual Artist by way of New Orleans. For the past eight years Charles has worked as a freelance illustrator; primarily working on theater posters, magazine covers, and book covers. His mission is to use his platform to promote diversity through the continued representation of women, black, brown, and queer individuals. Outside of art, Charles is passionate about educational equity, social justice, politics, science and science fiction.
SUSAN DENG
Born and raised in Southern California, Susan Deng is now a proud New Yorker of 5+ years and a deep lover of food, people, and positive thinking. She has worked in various industries from a young age and managed teams of all sizes, ranging from a team of four to 34 for the last five years. Her most recent role is in a new department launching at WeWork, which focuses on supporting startups in various verticals.
JULISSA CONTRERAS (HOST)
Julissa Contreras is the creator of the YouTube hit “Shit Spanish Girls Say” and The “Ladies Who Bronche” podcast. Julissa has also worked in the nonprofit industry for over 10 years both in theatrical and youth development capacities and continues to bridge the two worlds to create dialogue and art that reflects society’s overlooked voices.
