Jim Rutenberg, New York Times media columnist, talks with top television journalists about how the nightly broadcast news shows that once fed Americans a diet of uniform facts have been replaced with an array of radio and cable news shows that tend to reinforce biases.
Many believe this has cleaved the nation into red and blue enemy camps, all while President Trump calls mainstream media “the enemy of the people.” Joining Rutenberg to unpack this issue in the middle of the midterm election are Andrea Mitchell, NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent and host of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports”; Bret Baier, chief political anchor, FOX News and host of “Special Report with Bret Baier”; and Norah O’Donnell, co-host of “CBS This Morning.”
