There is nothing better than getting some work done outside, and nothing like drinking a nice iced coffee while doing so!
Below are some of my go-to spots for getting work done in NYC, meeting a friend, or grabbing a cup of coffee. This list is always being updated and changed, as there are always fun new places that are opening. I would love to hear what’s your favorite place to do work is!
BROOKLYN
Butler Bakeshop
With two locations in Williamsburg and one in DUMBO, Butler offers plenty of outdoor seating. Head to their DUMBO location, grab a Moroccan mint iced tea, and take a seat overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. They have free WiFi.
Cocoa Grinder Gold
With many locations in Bay Ridge, Cocoa Grinder recently opened up Cocoa Grinder Gold, a location off of the 95th St R train station. Walk up the spiral staircase and take a seat in their brand new rooftop area. They have free WiFi.
Copper Mug Coffee
Located off of Bedford Ave, Copper Mug has a large backyard with benches and tables. They have free WiFi.
Freehold
A go-to brunch spot, in the day time Freehold has plenty of space both in the backyard and on the street.
Milk & Roses
A Greenpoint mainstay, once you walk in you are surrounded by a sea of books. After walking past the bar area, you are greeted by a large courtyard filled with plants, antiques, and spacious seating. They have free WiFi.
Vineapple
Vineapple is located on Pineapple St. in Downtown Brooklyn, a short walk from the Brooklyn Bridge. Head past the barista counter to their garden, where they have a colorful mural, and plenty of seating. They also have sidewalk seating as well. They have free WiFi, but only for a short period of time. After an hour, it requires a passcode.
MANHATTAN
Bluestone Lane
This Australian café has multiple locations in NYC, with two standout locations in the West Village and in the Upper East Side. Their West Village location has a good amount of seating, and their Upper East Side location is in an old church. They have free WiFi.
Chillhouse
Not only is Chillhouse a destination for everything self-care, but they also have a selection of wellness lattes and a few tables for outdoor seating.
Felix Roasting Co.
Felix Roasting Co. recently opened a new location on Greene Street, and it is one of the prettiest cafés in NYC. With plenty of outdoor seating and the most beautiful interior, order a chai and sit amongst the faux plants. They have free WiFi.
Hutch and Waldo Coffee
With seating both on the sidewalk and right outside of their café, Hutch and Waldo is located blocks away from Central Park. Their iced drinks come with a paper turtle straw! They have free WiFi.
Intelligentsia Coffee at the High Line Hotel
Located in the heart of Chelsea, the High Line Hotel was once a cathedral. Now a hotel and outdoor dining space, Intelligentsia serves their coffee out of a double-decker bus. You are able to enjoy your coffee in their garden, or on top of the double-decker. They have free WiFi.
Laughing Man Coffee
With two locations in TriBeCa, Laughing Man Coffee has outdoor seating both outside their café, or along Hudson River Park.
Pi Greek Bakerie
The best Greek frappé in NYC located in TriBeCa, order a spanakopita and frappé, and work outside their café.
Rosecrans
Rosecrans is a café and flower shop combined in one located in the West Village. Not only are you able to grab a cup of coffee and work outside, but they also operate as a full-service store, where you can buy anything in the café, even the chairs!
