Marko Stout was originally scheduled to exhibit in the Spring of 2018 at the conservative World Trade Gallery in the financial district of New York City- but problems arose when gallery owner Doug Smith realized the exhibition contained female nudity and an image of 2 women kissing.
The owner then made unreasonable censorship demands on the artist and Marko Stout pulled the exhibition from the gallery. However, the story now has a happy ending as the full “uncensored” exhibition will finally be exhibited at one of NYC’s most progressive galleries, Gallery MC.
