Museum of the City of New York
1220 Fifth Avenue

For more than two decades, production artist John Kurdewan worked side by side with the late, great Bill Cunningham, who as a photographer, fashion documentarian, and writer, captured New York’s ever-changing social and sartorial scenes for The New York Times.

Cunningham’s iconic Times pages have long been revered as an astute reflection of the city’s colliding worlds of high society, haute couture, and emerging street style. Join Kurdewan and designer and author Steven Stolman for a conversation about what it was like to “work for Bill” from a rare and revealing vantage point.

About the Speakers:
John Kurdewan is a production artist at The New York Times and was a friend of Bill Cunningham. Kurdewan worked closely with Cunningham for more than 20 years as his right-hand man to design his “On the Street” and “Evening Hours” pages for the Sunday Times.

Steven Stolman is a designer, author, and observer of all things stylish. Stolman developed his own collection of resort wear before serving as president of the textile house Scalamandre. Now, Stolman is an author, lecturer, and brand strategist for businesses in the design and decor space.
