Last week, we had the pleasure of joining the team at Bklyn Larder and Top Chef Grayson Schmitz for a Friendsgiving feast like no other. Held at the store-owner’s Mandy Wynn’s Grand Army Plaza penthouse-like apartment, the evening featured dishes from the Bklyn Larder Thanksgiving menu.
The first thing we saw when we entered the gorgeous and spacious apartment was a display of their gift boxes. The boxes featured curated items with various snacks and spreads that you can expect to receive if you buy one.
After checking out the gift boxes, we made our way to the kitchen where a full Thanksgiving spread was laid out, squash decor included- because what’s fall without some good ol’ squash?
The sides included a Green Bean Casserole with Mushroom & Onion, Brussels Sprouts with Chorizo & Piquillo Peppers, Classic Herb Stuffing with Sausage, Cauliflower Gratin with Gruyere, Roasted Acorn Squash with Butter, Brown Sugar & Chili Flakes, and Mashed Potatoes with the skin included. A Thanksgiving-themed meal isn’t complete without the turkey; this one was boneless, pasteurized, brined, rolled and stuffed with their sausage stuffing.
All of these amazing dishes were prepared by Top Chef alum Grayson Schmitz- who by the way, somehow managed to still look totally composed throughout all the top notch cooking.
We also got a look and taste of some amazing pies. The traditional ones, of course, included apple, pumpkin and pecan.
Along with those eats came views from an incredible balcony overlooking Grand Army Plaza, that extended around the whole perimeter of the apartment and included and built in bar with a cooler filled with ciders and beers.
If this shindig is any indication of the meal you can expect from Bklyn Larder, You may want to rethink your plans to cook for yourself this Thanksgiving.
