Carvel National Soft Serve Day Takeover

Carvel has been inventing originals since 1934, after Tom Carvel’s ice cream truck famously broke down in the New York summer heat and created The Original Soft Serve. To honor this legacy and its New York roots, Carvel is celebrating National Soft Serve Day happening on Saturday, Aug. 19th.

Carvel Original Soft Serve Giveaway at Empire State Building- Thursday, August 17th

Soft serve giveaway from 11 am to 2 pm on the observatory atop the iconic Empire State Building in New York. Soft serve and free swag will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Purchase tickets to the observatory deck here.

Carvel is taking its ice cream truck around New York City! Catch Fudgie the Whale and cool down with The Original Soft Serve. First come, first serve. Follow the stops on Carvel’s Twitter and Instagram.

Carvel’s Softest Cruise Ever on the NYC Ferry- Saturday, August 19th

Relax and unwind during the trip with plush pillows and a soft serve-themed experience while enjoying Carvel’s Original Soft Serve (first-come, first-serve). While aboard, you might even spot a whale…Carvel’s beloved mascot, Fudgie the Whale, that is!

Carvel’s Softest Cruise Ever will take place aboard one ship on the East River route, beginning at 11:55 am until 3:30pm (2-3 loops). The East River route starts at Wall Street/Pier 11 (Gouverneur Lane at South Street, F.D.R. Drive Manhattan) and makes stops at DUMBO/Fulton Ferry, South Williamsburg, North Williamsburg, Greenpoint, E. 34th St., and Hunters Point South. Ferry tickets can be purchased here.
