James Bond movies are so much fun to watch, because they really give you a taste of the action. One of his films can bring you into the world of the character, but it can only take you so far. Spyscape intends to bridge the gap.
The interactive museum not only teaches you about the lives and missions of infamous spies who, let’s face it, don’t get enough recognition, but allows you to step into their shoes and get a taste of the spy life yourself.
The museum itself houses exhibits highlighting known cases, like enigma, which was the main focus if the movie, The Imitation Game, as well as lesser known cases like those of double-agents.
It starts off with a bracelet. Your token to all interactive elements is given to you when you arrive, which is plugged with your information, including an email address. This is so can send you your results—and trust me, you’re going to want them.
Scattered throughout are interactive elements including quizzes and more intensive games aimed at assessing your spy skills. The games test your personality, your pension for risk, decoding skills, how skilled you are at detecting deception, surveillance prowess and stealth.
If you so choose, you also have the option to add onto your experience with a Missions and Martinis package or 007. 007 is the museum’s newest exhibit, showcasing props from the movies, spinning a reel of famous lines and scenes and really throwing you into the magic.
Missions and Martinis, which we were invited to take part in, takes a different approach to that movie magic by giving you a pre-museum experience filled with your choice of drink (martinis being the recommended option) along with various hors d’oeuvres like smoked salmon toast, roasted vegetables and more. Both experiences come with tickets to the full Spyscape experience.
Ina city full of art museums and pop-ups, Spyscape is a gem of a refuge for people looking for something different and not just made for Insta-pictures—although it does have opportunities for those. Get spy game strong and grab your tickets here!
