Luckily for you, we have done a little investigation of our own to prepare you before winter hits us in full swing. Find the list of our Five favorite lounges and cocktail bars that will warm you right up, and even more importantly, maintain that New York holiday spirit!
1. The Back Room – 102 Norfolk St, New York, NY 10002
Past, meet Present. The Back Room is one of only a few NYC speakeasys dating back to the prohibition era that is still in operation. It’s jazzy music selection along with gorgeous interior and plush victorian style furniture will put almost anyone at ease. Drinks are even served in teacups accurate to prohibition tradition–so sip away by the fireplace as you take in the cozy ambiance.
2. Dear Irving– 55 Irving Pl, New York, NY 10003
At the push of a button..Viola! Your server is at your beck and call. Dear Irving is Gramercy Park’s hidden gem. Not only is everything about this establishment elegant and chic, but the craft cocktails and small bites are excellent. Dear Irving is a perfect spot to cozy up with a date or share a night cap with friends.
3. Raines Law Room– 48 W 17th, New York, NY 10011
Yet another speakeasy, in which one must ring a door bell before entering its clandestine entrance, Raines Law Room was named after a 1896 New York law on the consumption of liquor. The warm windowless interior, decorated with prohibition wall accents, and cushiony couches and armchairs makes the perfect perch for a cozy evening in.
4. The NoMad Bar– 10 W 28th St, New York, NY 10001
This dark sanctuary featuring two levels and towers of books can be as crazy as it is cozy! I present to you, The NoMad Bar, your best bet for mingling with others in the social scene all while keeping toasty with your crew. Whether you came for their famous burger or to chat over a bottle of wine, the NoMad is surely a winter haven.
5. Rose Bar– Gramercy Park Hotel, 2 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10010
Rose Bar of the Gramercy Park Hotel is surely the perfect hangout. The bar is decked out in plush rose-colored furniture surrounding small tables for conversation.
