The first annual TriBeCa Gallery Walk is scheduled during the international art fair, Independent New York.

Galleries will have special opening hours from 10:00am-1:00pm. Please see below for a schedule of events throughout the morning, all of which are free and open to the public.

Artist Q&A: Aki Sasamoto
Installation and performance artist Aki Sasamoto will lead a walkthrough and conversation about her work in the gallery’s viewing rooms.

Curator Talk: Luiza Teixeira de Freitas
Alexander and Bonin will host a dialogue with Luiza Teixeira de Freitas, who curated the first iteration of “Tandem,” a five-part series of exhibitions that will run parallel to the gallery program over the next year.

Artist Talk: Cody Hoyt
Brooklyn-based artist Cody Hoyt will lead a walkthrough of his current solo exhibition “Full Time, Non-Primitive” and speak about his new series of hand-built ceramic works.

Panel: TriBeCa’s New Gallery Landscape at Independent New York
To finish off the inaugural TriBeCa Gallery Walk, please join us back at Independent New York for a special panel moderated by artnet News contributor Eileen Kinsella on the topic of gallery neighborhoods and TriBeCa’s burgeoning gallery scene. Panel guests will include Jonathan Travis (partner of Redwood Property Group), Magdalena Sawon (founder of Postmasters), Ann Fensterstock (author of “Art on the Block: Tracking the New York Art World from SoHo to the Bowery, Bushwick and Beyond”) and Patrick Parrish (founder of Patrick Parrish).
