What’s more American than Summer Camp?
This year, we’re celebrating the Fourth of July a little differently. Seeing as it falls on a Wednesday, we decided to throw a daytime bash. Who wants to party late into the night when you have to go back to work the next day? Instead, hang with us all afternoon, and hit the sack early enough that your July 5th isn’t a drag. Also, we’re pretty-sure our view of the fireworks from our Navy Yard location will only be so-so but our view of the surrounding city never ceases to dazzle! No matter how un-patriotic you may be feeling right now, we’ll make sure you leave your cares at ground level. After all, you’re getting a day off, in the middle of the week, in the summer! So seize the moment, and take a trip back to a more innocent time. Dust off your short-shorts and tube socks, stretch those bean bag tossing muscles, and run through the sprinklers with us.
The festivities will kick off at 2pm with our favorite camp inspired food (think hamburgers and hot dogs, but with great ingredients and a healthy portion of vegetables) and unlimited beer and wine. We may even have some bug juice!
Activities will include an arts and craft station (for those kids… and by those kids, we mean ourselves!), games (for the competitive ones in the bunch), and a talent show! (aka live music and entertainment from some our very talented friends)! There will even be an auction with some incredible prizes to benefit City Growers’ summer camp scholarship fund, so you can help send NYC kids to summer camp at our farm! Other great surprises to be announced.
