Verb Haircare is debuting their very first retail space — a pop-up in Manhattan in celebration of the first anniversary of their cult-favorite Ghost collection.

Verb is a line of professional hair products priced right at $16, created by stylists looking for high-quality products their clients could afford. Every Verb product is cruelty-free, with no harmful sulfates, parabens or gluten, and all products are made in the USA.

Verb really wanted to give back in some way with this pop-up, so they’ve initiating a Verb Wants You To Trade Up program. On the last day of the pop-up, people can bring in their unused shampoos and conditioners, and Verb will donate them on their behalf to the Lower East Side Girls Club. In return, they’ll trade you full-sized Ghost Shampoo and Conditioner as a thank you for your contribution.

And in addition to it being a pop-up filled with product, they’re doing a ton of really fun in-store activities and events throughout the month, including Make Your Own Verb (where you can customize your own cult-favorite Ghost Oil), an all-day headshot event (where people can come into the shop, get a professional headshot taken, mingle, chat, and play with Verb), terrarium workshops, cocktail-making, paint party (with paint instructor), Friday Night In with Verb (with a stylist teaching how to do fishtail braids and doing fishtails on attendees) and much more.

Why Pop Up?
They decided to do the pop-up for a variety of reasons. First, they really wanted the opportunity to engage with their customers in a more unique way. They’re such a small team and and loved the idea of coming face-to-face with people who love what Verb does and the products they create — and this gives them a chance to meet both die-hard fans of the brand, as well as acquaint themselves with people who aren’t yet familiar with them. Secondly, the Ghost collection has become such a runaway hit for Verb, and they wanted to do something big for its first birthday. While they played around with the idea of doing a one-day party or pop-up, that didn’t seem to do the collection justice. What really resonated with them was creating a space for people to come by for a full month and participate in events planned and thrown by Verb’s small team. All of the events are centered around things their team is passionate about and has a personal connection to. They want people to know that there’s an actual team behind the brand and products that are truly excited about this company and making products that people love.

Throughout the month, they will be hosting a ton of in-store activations and events so you can come, hang out and meet the Verb team. A few of the in-store events include (and those interested can check out their events page to register for the activities):

— Make Your Own Verb (MYOV): MYOV will happen on sporadic days throughout the month. Verb will shout out on social when they’re doing MYOV along with the MYOV promo associated with that day, so it will be a surprise each time.

— October 6: All-day headshot event where people can come into the shop, get a professional headshot taken, mingle, chat, and play with Verb.

— October 7: Two terrarium workshops, one in the morning and one in the evening.

— October 12: Cocktail-making event, facilitated/taught by someone from the Deep Eddy Vodka team (one of Verb’s favorite Texas brands). They’re providing shakers, spoons and jiggers to attendees, who will be making two custom cocktails.

— October 20: Ghost Dry Oil paint party. Attendees will be able to paint their own can of Ghost Dry Oil with a paint instructor.

— October 25: Birthday party to celebrate Ghost turning one, with music, a photo booth, Deep Eddy Vodka cocktails and snacks.

— October 26: Friday Night In with Verb — There will be a stylist teaching how to do fishtail braids and doing fishtails on attendees, plus mingling, networking, chatting — all the fun stuff.
