Harlem Stage welcomes the community and invites all drummers, percussionist, dancers and culture enthusiasts! Participate in a drum circle led by master drummer King Salim Ajanku and a community sing led by Marcelle Davies-Lashley. Bring your tambourines, djembes, congas, cajónes, hand percussion and joy!
Tour the Gatehouse and learn about its historical restoration from a facility that distributed clean water to New York City into a state-of-the-art flexible performing arts center. Meet some of the artists and learn about Antigone in Ferguson. Presented by Harlem Stage and Theater of War Productions, Antigone in Ferguson is an unprecented five-week run of free performances from September 13th-October 13th, 2018. Open House attendees will view an excerpted performance accompanied by a community sing led by vocalist Marcelle Davies-Lashley. Enjoy fun activities for the whole family and dance to the soulful sounds Harlem’s own DJ Ness Digital.
