Hakan Akkaya

Hakan Akkaya made a statement with his Glam Rock Fall/Winter 19 Collection, this season at Spring Studios. Inspired by the 1970s, Akkaya brought bold detailed looks that were reminiscent of that time.

Strong and unique outfits flew down the runway, impressing the crowd. We were living for the sparkle forward jumpsuits and shoulder pads. All of the looks worked well together, while staying unique and original. This was one of the most cohesive collections that we saw at NYFW.

The models wore dark eye shadow and even though many model rocked with their own hair, others wore short black and pink wigs, which added extra attitude to the show.

The mens and womens designs provided strong eye catching looks. The men wore fur coats, striped suits, spikes, and bold colors. The women dressed in dazzling jumpsuits, platform boots, bold colors, animal prints, spikes, and shoulder pads. Together, these looks had everyone wishing they owned every piece of the collection!

The audience went crazy each time one of the Hakan’s creations covered in glitter or spikes graced the runway. These show-stopping looks are sure to be seen again, since they are perfect for any function you are looking to make a statement for. Please continue to blow us away with your out of this world designs!

Calvin Luo

Calvin Luo showcased his new Fall/Winter 19 Collection by mixing his signature style with different eras, and creating feminine looks which inspire women to be independent.

Dazzling the crowd with his creative and grungy designs, Calvin Luo brought powerful looks to the runway. His collection gave us 80s and 90s vibes, using denim, vinyl, and sequins along with his signature jackets.

His designs were impressive, especially the dresses which had his name on them; and wasn’t like other brands where they just slap the label on an outfit. These Calvin Luo dresses used different fonts, which spun in a creative way. At first it was hard to tell it was actually his name, until you looked closely. We loved the pattern and how the outfit was constructed. Please, can it magically appear in my closet?

This show was located at Spring Studios, which was the hub of New York Fashion Week. It was the best place to spot social media influencers, reset with a cup of coffee, or get your makeup and hair touched up by TRESemmé and Maybelline.
