Today starts off the always awaited NYC Restaurant Week, we got a sneak preview at Perrine’s delectable menu offerings, located in the Pierre Hotel.

Located at the edge of Central Park, this quaint restaurant gave us a taste of its delicacies presented for NYC Restaurant Week, an event spanning from Monday, January 22nd through Friday, February 9th. It enables New Yorkers and beyond a chance to taste some of NYC’s finest cuisine at a fraction of the price for a 3 course meal for either lunch ($29) or dinner ($42) and occasionally brunch ($29). See Perrine’s Pre-fix menu below offered during dinner.

We started with warm pieces of bread, then moved on the Appetizers which included the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, which was so delicious and creamy and the Tuna Tartare which was on point.

Next we shared the Winter Citrus Salad, which was a unique blend of blood oranges and greens, the Sauteed Mushrooms, which had some great gnocchi, and finally my favorite, the Roasted Beet & Kale Salad, which contained beets cooked to perfection!

The entrees were served and all were a feast fit for a king/queen. The Roasted Hake Filet was well plated, the Spring Chicken was excellent and the Beef Short Ribs were oh so tender, paired with the psychedelic Romanesco Broccoli. We also got to meet the man behind it all, Chef Ashfer Biju who was a sweetheart and talked about the amazing food and his technique.

And then there was dessert. The desserts we got a taste of included the Candy Bar Specialty, the Apple Tart Tatin, made with a caramelized apple and a Dairy-Free Panna Cotta, which tasted just as good if it had dairy. All of these exquisite dishes were made by Chef Michael Mignano who gave us a glimpse of his newest cookbook  “The Pastry Chef’s Little Black Book.
