What an amazing, eclectic and feel good show! VFILES shut the Barclays Center down for its NYFW SS 19 fashion event.
The show celebrated uniqueness and inclusion – a VFILES mission to empower and connect the creative global youth community. Each designer’s look had exciting colors, vibrant patterns, and cool prints. The show sold out to the general public with over 3,000 people attending. Paul Cupo debuted the VFILES RTW collection VFILES YELLOW LABEL and @lilkimthequeenbee SHUT IT DOWN in a custom bright-yellow piece and an exclusive song made for the VFILES Show, all alongside VFILES community models from #12Mercer castings.
The SS19 collection Runway winners were @Elena_Velez, @MARRKNULL, @ShutingQiu, and #WINDOWSEN. There were also dope performances by artists emerging artists like @Barbieboy.rayy, Jewnique, Danays @danaysworld, and Jean-Luc @thejeanlucmusic.

FIRE! SEXY! ORIGINAL! – all describe the dynamic runway collection debuted at NYFW SS19 by LaQuan Smith. The collection which premiered at Pier 59 Studios , had a very diverse, dynamic selection of fashions with incredible pops of color and the physique of a woman top of mind! @yeezymafia supplied the footwear & @asos x Laquan Smith Jeans. LaQuan Smith’s spring collection was inspired by women who committed crimes, so he sensationalized that idea with looks comprised of vintage mugshots of female criminals. There was tons of old-school glamour on the body-baring silhouettes, and an element of travel from his new collaboration with luggage maker Sprayground featuring rolling suitcases, hoodies, fanny packs and backpacks in the mugshot print, titled “Scammer.” The male and female models strutted with effortless cool in looks dripping in swag. I absolutely loved his designs – all very sexy and made for the confident, unapologetic woman.

Stunning is THE word to describe the beautiful runway collection AFFFAIR launched. AFFFAIR debuts at New York Fashion Week with the ‘Power of Fire’ Collection, inspired by the designer’s home country Azerbaijan, “The Land of Fire”. Azerbaijani fashion designer, Rufat Ismayil of AFFFAIR, showed his Spring Summer 2019 Collection at Industria to 500 guests as a part of IMG’s NYFW: The Shows. Ismayil is the first designer to represent his home country at New York Fashion Week.
We adored the silhouette of every piece that sauntered down the runway. The runway was ablaze with high slits, mini skirts and plunging necklines. Each look shined with jewels – eloquently and expertly stitched. The models strutted in goddess like pieces with the most illustrious, intricate beading in vibrant hues of gold, green, and black. The AFFFAIR brand was originally and continues to be inspired by women who are both sophisticated and powerful, yet very feminine and desirable. We adored this fashion show and are excited to see what’s next for the designer!
