Arranging colorful flowers calms the mind and feeds the soul – what better way to detox and de-stress than to arrange flowers within our vibrant rooftop farm ecosystem?
Join sustainable floral designer Molly Culver of Molly Oliver Flowers for a hands-on workshop. You’ll learn how to source locally grown flowers around NYC and make a basic arrangement at home.
Together, we’ll walk the farm and cut some fresh flowers to supplement buckets of gorgeous seasonal blooms plucked from NYC and the surrounding region, review design tips, flower care, and devote the majority of our workshop to enjoying our time arranging! Each participant will get to take home an arrangement in a vessel provided.
Light snacks and libations will be served.
About Molly Oliver Flowers:
Molly Oliver Flowers was founded by urban farmers Molly Culver and Deborah Greig. Molly Oliver Flowers sources its flowers from small farms located within 200 miles of New York City in an effort to offer a sustainable approach to floral design, and to support family farmers who in turn support the local economy and our soils, waters, and ecosystems. We are constantly humbled and inspired by the inimitability of the natural world, and love to call upon the flowers, fruits and foliage thriving in any season to capture a mood, create an experience, and bring incomparable beauty to any event. In addition to designing with flowers, Molly manages the 1-acre Youth Farm in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, where she grows vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers and trains diverse adults in sustainable agriculture techniques.
