Do you enjoy amazing dinners paired with a live set from your favorite Indie bands? Well, The Wild Honey Pie offers these kinds of experiences, twice a month in NYC and also LA, with other cities sure to be added.
Their dinner parties incorporate a live show at the tastiest bars and restaurants in town. The first half of the night is all about the food, and the rest is a sweet intimate show featuring a dope band.
This Halloween we dined at their latest dinner party at Italian restaurant, Le Fanfare in Greenpoint. The night was composed of a costume dinner party, great people, and the band Salt Cathedral, who were right on the money! Have a listen here!
The Indie band is originally from Colombia, and their music pays homage to their motherland and other Pop icons, whilst adding in their own flair. The duo’s use of vocals and instruments is done almost seamlessly, a bit reminiscent of one of my favorite bands, CocoRosie.
The dinner featured a 3 course meal, starting off with a Fall Butternut Squash Soup, a Vegetarian Bolognese for our entree, then and a Pumpkin Spice Flourless Cheesecake, topped with caramel and sea salt for dessert. All the items were excellent, especially the soup. Also to note, most dishes are vegetarian and/or gluten free to meet various dietary needs.
If you haven’t heard about The Wild Honey Pie before, here’s a little history. It was founded in 2009 by Eric Wiener, and it’s a combination of his two passions, food and music. In addition to the dinner parties, The Wild Honey Pie also holds an annual Welcome Campers Adult Camp. We are looking forward to checking out more of their events, which you can see here! Their next NYC Dinner Party is going down with Odetta Hartman on November 12th at Guadalupe Inn, you can purchase tickets for that here.
