New Yorkers, purposely forget to pack your lunch next week, as it’s time to try out a city classic in it’s newest location.

Pastrami Queen officially opened its doors to the public in Times Square last week on March 20th, becoming the company’s first extension since it’s last opening on the Upper East side, 60 years ago!

Originally established in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 1956 under the name ‘Pastrami King’, the iconic restaurant has hopped all around various parts of the city since, including Queens Boulevard and the Upper East Side. It wasn’t until the food hub moved to the UES that the name was officially changed, and gained extraordinary popularity.

Serving up classic Jewish meals over the years, Pastrami Queen has been a home base for politicians, lawyers and business owners alike to grab a quick bite, making it a part of their daily routine.

With classics like the “award winning” matzo ball soup and pastrami sandwich, paired with a traditional cream soda, it’s authentic food that you can’t compare.

This bubbling Times Square hotspot in particular will offer exclusive menu deals and treats exclusive to the location. For instance, there will be section on the menu featuring all day long breakfast.

The interior of the store itself, is inspired by the traditional deli, and even pays tribute to one of the original locations, with a picture of the old store front plastered behind the deli counter. Adding a mid-century modern twist to the decor, walls are adorned with the iconic Andy Warhol floral print, brightening up the shop. The room is topped off with tables and chairs created with the influence of the 50s in mind.
