NYC’s only zero-proof bar, Hekate is an “intimate sober bar and specialty tea shop fueled by feminine energy, designed for those who seek the alchemy of herbal elixirs”. It is a convivial community place for anyone who might appreciate an alternative to bars. Enjoy their ambiance and taste their delicious mocktails, 0ABV beers, and more. Absence of Proof

Absence of Proof provides nightlife options for those taking a night, month, or lifetime off of drinking. Their pop-ups feature a full menu of non-alcoholic cocktails, wine, and beer. This month you can look forward to a few speakeasy events (extended into February!) with unlimited drinks in collab with Ritual Zero Proof and a new menu every weekend, and a cocktail-making class, both of which you can sign up for here, also a Sober Happy Hour with Bumble

For NYC locals who don’t want a social life centered around booze, Kava Social is a vibrant gathering place where patrons not only enjoy healthy non-alcoholic beverages. It’s also a place to work, network, and connect with friends. Kava Social’s menu is grounded in the kava root of the South Pacific and the kratom plant of Southeast Asia. Their selection of plant-based beverages is rooted in earthy flavors with all-natural ingredients crafted into a modern mocktail. Drink choices range in preparation and presentation from traditional to edgy concoctions suited for all tastes.

The Alchemist’s Kitchen Elixir Bar

The Alchemist’s Kitchen flagship is a unique destination located in Soho. They are a botanical dispensary dedicated to connecting you with the power of plants, through high-quality botanical medicines, herbal remedies, and whole plant beauty products. Adjacent to the botanical dispensary is their Elixir Bar, a magical speakeasy and private event space curated for an offering of experiences from tastings, small classes, celebrations, showcase events, and immersive divination nights paired with thoughtfully blended elixirs and culinary treats. Third Place Bar

Third Place has the vibe of your local bar, but without the “I’m not drinking” awkwardness. They focus on bringing customers a down-to-earth menu of non-alcoholic beers and warm German-style pretzels, alongside a small selection of cocktails and our favorite local sodas and kombucha. This month they have two pop-ups at Butler Brooklyn on the evenings of January 6th and 13th. Secure your spots here. They are extending their pop-ups through February! Friday, February 3rd with a Hot toddies and @drink.sayso tasting, and TRIVIA NIGHT from 7pm, and Friday, February 10th with a Bitters & Emo Night for V-day.

Rather than a fixed place, Listen Bar pops up all over, from basement dives to rooftop lounges. You can learn how to make their drinks with on-demand & private virtual classes. And look out for invites to their exclusive IRL events, which happen a few times a year. If you went to the H&M Hotel Hennes pop-up last summer, they were shaking up fantastic cocktails on the rooftop! Also, this month will be the return of their alcohol-free cocktail competition, the Good AF Awards on January 31st, closing out the month in style. Details TBA.
