A special meet & greet, book signing will take place along with samplings of Williams’ homemade Sazerac – Louisiana’s official state cocktail with origins in pre-Civil War New Orleans.

New York City’s eponymous cookbook store, Bonnie Slotnick Cookbooks, has hosted an array of top-tier culinary and cocktail writers since opening in 1997. The specialty shop will host Elizabeth “Liz” Williams, author of Lift Your Spirits: A Celebratory History of Cocktail Culture in New Orleans.

In Lift Your Spirts, Williams, Founder and Director of the National Food and Beverage Foundation (NatFAB) which includes New Orleans’ famed Museum of the American Cocktail (MOTAC), along with award-winning bartender Chris McMillian, delve into the traditions, myths and personalities that have made the Crescent City a renowned destination for imbibing tourists and a mecca for mixologists. One-part history, one-part folklore and one-part recipe book, plus a foreword by James Beard Award winner Dale DeGroff, Lift Your Spirits is a must-read for cocktail enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

Sunday Funday will take on a whole new meaning with a special meet & greet, book signing and samplings of Williams’ homemade Sazerac – Louisiana’s official state cocktail with origins in pre-Civil War New Orleans (must be over 21 for cocktails).
