FINLAND100NYC is an official Suomi 100 project that celebrates Finland’s 100th anniversary in New York City throughout 2017 with various events.

The theme of Finland’s centenary celebration is ‘Together’. The centenary celebration is open to both Finns and friends of Finland.

Join us for Karelian Pirogue Baking “TALKOOT”!
Our mission is to bake 1,000 Karelian pirogues for Suomi 100 Cafe that will be open at the Street Fair on September 9th.

Saturday, September 9th
Street Fair

Bleecker Street
Experience a piece of Finland in the middle of Manhattan. Street Fair will bring various vendors to the Street Fair that will be held at the Bleecker Street in West Village on September 9th. Come and enjoy Finnish delicacies at the Suomi Cafe, buy handicrafts, and experience the real Finnish Sauna on wheels.

Sauna Experience

Experience genuine Finnish Sauna. The Traveling Sauna that has already traveled across the USA on its ongoing trip will be hot and ready for bathers on September 10th in Red Hook, Brooklyn. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience what a real Finnish Sauna is like, with the right temperature (between 158 and 212 F) and with the use of Sauna vihta (the birch whisk).

Monday September 11th- Thursday September 14th

The pop-up will feature interactive sessions, multi-content exhibitions, concerts and evening events with the creatives who brought the works of art to life. Connections, a unique art piece by Susanna Sivonen was painted during the House of Finland 2016 exhibition. Exhibition includes also panel discussions and creative workshops. During the events, cultural interaction is encouraged, and supported by Finnish cuisine.
