The Week Magazine’s is returning for the second year of its live programming initiative, The Week LIVE in sponsorship with The Lincoln Motor Company. The brand’s innovative multi-day festival will take place in New York City offering fans of The Week exclusive access to experiences curated from the pages of the magazine.
The events will include:
Tuesday, October 10th
Leading American expert of molecular gastronomy, Wylie Dufresne, will incorporate new scientific techniques to prepare exceptional tastings and cocktails at the Seaport Food Lab. Guests will also receive a copy of Dufresne’s Wd-50: The Cookbook at the event.
Thursday, October 12th
The Week LIVE will host a VIP film experience at the iPic Theater in Fulton Market. Guests will enjoy an intimate cocktail reception followed by a special advance screening of Only the Brave, a drama based on the elite crew of firefighters from Prescott, Arizona who battled a wildfire in Yarnell, AZ in June 2013 that claimed the lives of 19 of their members. There will be luxury seats and dining as well as a discussion following the screening led by TheWeek.com Editor-in-Chief Ben Frumin. Only the Brave opens nationwide in theaters on October 20th.
Friday, October 13th
Guests will attend award-winning photojournalist Jean-Pierre Laffont’s exclusive book signing for New York City Up & Down at his gallery display in the Melville Gallery. New York City Up & Down is an expansive collection of Laffont’s photographs of New York City street life dating back to his move to the city in 1965. Guests can also partake in cocktails and conversation with Laffont as they peruse his artwork.
Sunday, October 15th
Guests will attend an exclusive VIP Broadway cast experience, starting with a performance of The Lion King at the Minskoff Theater. Immediately following the show, in a program developed exclusively for The Week LIVE, the cast and creatives of The Lion King will return to the stage for an in-depth discussion on the show.
