As we venture into the summer heat, NYC is offering up more creative lenses for fitness opportunities, and Brooklyn’s Beast: Fitness Evolved is changing the game.
Located in Park Slope, BK, the facility is a one-stop shop for intense circuit workouts, explosive tunes and a community devoted to repping all that is Brooklyn. Just last week, Beast invited the media out for their Battle Ropes + Rosé event, which included — you guessed it — drinks provided by Hampton Water Wine Co.
After touring the facility, which includes wall decor dedicated to the Brooklyn greats like Aaliyah, The Notorious B.I.G., and JAY-Z, it was time to sweat with the assistance of instructor Corey Haribson and DJ Nik Barricelli.
Over the course of an hour, class participants were put to the test for a non-stop circuit-routine. Newbies, do not fret.; Haribson made his way around the class, encouraging proper form and motivation. With the help of some free weights, ropes, as well as your own body weight, the routine truly does bring out the beast within, to push you to intense boundaries. And no, that’s far from an exaggeration. Thankfully, the blaring music offers up moments where you feel like you may have been transported outside of a workout facility and into a nearby club. Either way, the tunes keep you moving.
“This 3 section circuit will bring out your inner BEAST using a wide range of equipment and movements designed to strengthen and tone your whole body,” reads a portion of the class description on their website.
After the class, patrons are welcomed to fill out into the lobby. For our Tuesday visit, we landed into socializing and plenty of Rosé as a post-exercise treat. Plus, what better way to celebrate a sweaty workout than with the wine in hand? Beast Fitness doesn’t expect you to just get up and leave after your session either.
