Aisha McShaw SS18

A rainy cold night didn’t stop NYC fashion enthusiasts from coming out and launching NYFW with Aisha McShaw. The cocktail hour was filled with warm energies that seemed so unbothered by the storm that swept us all in.

Taking a step back and glancing at the fashion, I saw everything from tailored kimonos with vibrant colors in silk to leather fringe looks that left me wondering what will I get to see during the show if the guests are so well dressed and trendsetting.

We moved from the front room to our seats, and needless to say the venue was spectacular. The runway shape allowed for all the guest to fully capture each look and all eyes lay there. EACH PIECE SPOKE ELEGANCE and VOLUME! The collection was filled with strong silk pieces, jumpsuits, flesh tones, blush and hints of green.

The structure of each piece was as if it was designed around the models body! The show was breathtaking, leaving me on the edge of my chair in awe at how beautifully crafted the collection was. One after the other I watched the reaction of the guests and knew I wasn’t alone!

Top 3 Picks:
1. The copper silk dress
2. The chiffon floral print maxi dress with the ruffle details throughout
3. The vibrant green set: silk top paired with a knee length lace pencil skirt

Addition Elle FW17

The Elle Holiday 2017 Runway Show was one for the books as the Plus size designers and models claimed their throne at NYFW 2017!
With leading Super Model Ashley Graham strutting the runway in a black two piece cut out bikini with a black silk cover up that tailored her curves to perfection!

Addition Elle also presented denim destroyed pieces alongside silk shirts and bralette crop tops topped with graphic printed jean jackets. Included in this collection were designs by Jordyn Woods who wanted to bring more fashion forward and everyday looks into the plus size market.

Favorite Look:
The turquoise satin bombshell two piece from the newest lingerie collection titled, The Ritz!

It was truly the definition of Honest, Fearless and Inclusive!

Banana Republic FW17

The Banana Republic FW2017 Show presenting Global Brand Ambassador, Olivia Palermo, was nothing short of classy and military femme. Bringing a taste that we haven’t seen in seasons, Olivia’s creative contributions added silk, brocade military jackets and suede all together to add a street flair to the already chic look.

Compiled in a chic statement of Fall favorite trends such as ruffles, A-line cuts, delicate straps that holds bold patterns with oversized structured pea-coats and trench coats.

As stated by Banana Republic, “this collection exudes elegance and sophistication that encompasses both softness and strength” which is told through the color palette of berries and flesh tones with pops of bright reds and golds with the sleekness of the pulled back ponytails!

Favorite Look:
The Paisley print metallic brocade military jacket that appears to be heavy but so easy on the eyes. Paired with a matching pencil skirt!

Hakan Akkaya SS18

The Hakan Akkaya runway show was simply breathtaking! The room turned dark and the light show begins with the first model touching the runway a second later. The path each model walked matched the style and character of each piece presented in the collection: intricate. With a focus on Blacks, Whites, stripes both meshed together to create a unique pattern, and alone as a monochromatic look.

Each look that came down the runway had each of the guest attention from head to toe. Hakan use of accessories was done in a way that was not forced or over done. Custom caps to structured purses that hung on both of the model’s shoulders created a optical illusion from a far, appearing to be sleeves! The shoes each model wore was so dramatic yet still not overpowering the clothing.

The shoes featured stripped booties? satin strapped sandals, black stilettos, and platform boots.

One of my favorite details about this collection with the strap work on every piece! From the all black mini dress with the mesh cut out in her mid section and the black straps that lined her arms and thighs to the black shorts and harness style belt with fringe made from heavy straps.

Favorite Look:
The all white two piece look layered with the see- through coat with the two pocket details in the front! Easily one of my favorite looks because it can be dressed up with a strong lip and heels or down as a everyday look with booties or Stan Smiths!

Ulla Johnson SS18

I’ll start off by stating that this was one of the most immaculate shows I’ve had the honor of being a guest at!!
Located at Pier 59, 2nd floor, the room faced the water and served as a wonderful backdrop for the runway show.

The runway was made of a chrome mirror material which reflected each model’s every step. The collection was filled with pinks, whites, embroidery, shaggy fringe and chiffon! The #1 piece that stole the show was the Ravi Coat / handmade coat covered in the shaggy fringe.

The gifts left for each guest spoke to directly to the designers taste and latest collection. A light pink embroidered drawstring bag with a shaggy fringe at the end, easy to transform into a clutch for day or night. Inside the bag was filled with nail polish, hair oils, over the knee socks and stress relieving oils! Amazing way to send us off!
